Coranto collects as little as it can. There are no analytics and no advertising. You can read without an account; an account is optional and only keeps your feed list in sync.
Nothing about you reaches the developer. There is no analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking SDK in the app or on the site.
If you create an account in Settings, Coranto stores your email address, a salted hash of your password, and the list of feeds you follow (each feed's name and address), so the same list appears on your other devices and in the web reader. Nothing else is synced: not what you read, saved, or searched. Accounts live on the developer's own server (api.jaybulb.com, on Cloudflare), and account emails such as the confirmation link are sent through Resend.
You can delete the account at any time in Settings. That deletes your email, password hash and synced feed list from the server straight away. Feeds on your device stay.
Deleting Coranto removes all of it.
The app downloads each feed straight from its publisher. When a story's feed has no image, the app also reads the top of that story's own page to find its preview image. The web reader cannot fetch other sites directly, so it goes through Coranto's own relay on coranto.jaybulb.com, which passes the request on and keeps no record of it. As with any reader or browser, each publisher's server sees the requests it receives, including your IP address, and is governed by its own privacy policy.
On first launch, Coranto follows a set of suggested news feeds so the app is not empty. Remove any of them from Feeds, like any feed you add yourself.
Coranto does not share, sell, rent, or transfer personal data to anyone.
Coranto is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Without an account, nothing about you is held by the developer. With one, Settings shows the email it holds and deletes it, with everything it stores, at any time.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
Questions about privacy in Coranto can be raised on the GitHub issue tracker, or through the support page.
